Ukash – Discontinued Payment Method
Ukash was a prepaid voucher system that allowed users to exchange cash for a 19-digit code at retail outlets across the UK and internationally. The code could then be entered at online merchants, including casino sites, to make payments without a bank account or credit card. At its peak, Ukash vouchers were available at over 420,000 retail locations worldwide.
In October 2014, Ukash was acquired by the Skrill Group and its services were merged into Paysafecard, another prepaid voucher brand. The Ukash brand was officially retired in 2015, and all existing Ukash vouchers were converted to Paysafecard equivalents. No new Ukash vouchers have been issued since the transition.
Any casino site that still lists Ukash as a payment option has not updated its information. Players looking for a similar cash-based, voucher-style deposit method should consider Paysafecard, which operates on the same principle – buy a voucher with cash at a retail outlet and use the PIN code to deposit online.
